"Popular Range" Magnets

These are the magnets that do all the little jobs you need a magnet for - holding, gripping, clamping, and retrieving. A variety of shapes and sizes and magnetic materials ensure that there's probably a magnet available to fill your need - off the shelf.

Magnet materials include ferrite, alnico, samarium cobalt, and neodymium iron boron, or "neo". Popular range magnets are supplied with keepers, where applicable, to increase their portability and utility. Each magnet has a pull rating and a specified maximum operating temperature.

Potential applications are limited only by your specific need and your imagination. Some uses and applications include securing, jigging and fixturing, work holding, retrieval work, and component use in assemblies. The range includes:

Magnetic Chucks

Strong-Mag permanent magnetic chucks are manually operated, and all feature variable hold, enabling easy and exact positioning of the work piece with minimal effort. Circular chucks can be partially energized to aid in the correct positioning of the work piece. All Strong-Mag permanent magnetic chucks offer solid construction, which eliminates work piece distortion. Strong-Mag permanent magnetic chucks are designed for use in grinding, EDM spark erosion, even light milling. Circular chucks can be used on internal cylindrical or rotary grinding machines and for turning operations on center lathes.

Strong-Mag fine pole chucks feature a transverse pole arrangement to provide optimum hold on delicate work pieces. Steel and brass laminated top plate construction allows for work holding across the full width, as well as both sides. All fine pole chucks are manually operated and have variable hold. Fine pole chucks are ideal for holding small, thin work pieces (up to 3mm) for surface grinding and EDM. They can be used for grinding or light milling of small work pieces.

Strong-Mag electro-permanent magnetic chucks have all the benefits of permanent magnetic chucks. Electro-perms feature electronic on-off - a split-second electronic pulse turns the chuck on or off, which minimizes heat build-up and parts distortion. All chucks have incremental variable hold and have a built-in demagnetization cycle. Electro-perms do not require a dedicated power source, meaning multiple chucks can be operated off one controller. Electro-perm chucks are great for grinding large or small work pieces and can be used for light- to medium-duty milling.

Magnetic Lifters

Strong-Mag permanent magnetic lifters - ultra-light yet ultra-powerful - are a revolution in the field of magnetic lifting. With so much power in such a light and compact unit, and so much "safety" built in, Strong-Mag lifters give you peace of mind while getting the job done quickly and efficiently.

Strong-Mag offers a range of 5 heavy-duty permanent magnetic lifters designed to provide maximum safety for a wide range of lifting applications, up to 4400 lbs with a 3-to-1 safety ratio! A safety catch ensures the lifter cannot be turned off automatically. All lifters are supplied with a Test Inspection Certificate guaranteeing the lifter is capable of lifting the stated Safe Working Load. All Strong-Mag heavy-duty lifters can be re-certified on an annual basis, or "as needed", in our facilities. With Strong-Mag lifters, you know you'll have a worry-free lift.

Strong-Mag heavy-duty permanent magnetic lifters can be used on flat or round ferrous work pieces. They can be combines with transporting hoists or integrated as part of a load/unload system. The flexibility of these "peace of mind" lifters is limited only by your imagination!
