Peerless
Industrial Equipment
Peerless Saws
began in the early 1900s when Charlie and Andy Rasmussen founded
the Wisconsin Machine Company to manufacture power hacksaw machines
which were sold and distributed by Peerless Machine
Company. Brothers Charlie and Andy thought that they had an idea
for a better metal cutting saw than those on the market at that
time. They were confident that their ideas were significantly revolutionary
to justify the increased cost of their machines on American Industry
by the value of their innovations. Charlie and Andy built and sold
the first power driven, high speed, wet cutting saw on the market.
Their innovations did, in fact, revolutionize metal sawing. Prior
to that time, all metal cutting power saws cut metal dry, necessitating
slower speeds to keep friction heat to a minimum.
In 1961, Peerless moved
from Racine, Wisconsin (Where it had begun), to newer and larger
facilities in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The company was no longer owned
by the Rasmussens and it was merged into a larger Company – Medalist
Industries. In 1992, Peerless was
purchased by Wisconsin Automated Machinery Company.
In 2002, Peerless was
acquired by its current principles and renamed Peerless Industrial
Equipment Corporation. Today, Peerless continues
our proud tradition of providing the finest in metal cutting bandsaw
machines, power hacksaw machines and we have expanded our product
line to include the exclusive representation of Daito CNC
Drilling machines and bandsaws for the structural steel industry.
